About the Role
We're a 25-person, Series A infrastructure company looking for our first Head of Finance. Today, our financial operations consist solely of an outsourced bookkeeper. We need someone who can own the finance function from the ground up and grow it as we scale.
This is a foundational hire. You'll be the first finance person in the building, reporting directly to the CEO. You should be comfortable working in ambiguity and building something from scratch. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to inherit clean systems, it’s for someone who thrives in the process of building.
What You'll Do
Finance Infrastructure
- Build our financial reporting infrastructure from nearly zero, including evaluating and implementing the appropriate systems, team, reporting formats and cadence.
- Own the accounting stack - including the close process and chart of accounts
- Architect a robust reporting package - including not just the 3 statements, but also defining and reporting on key operating metrics to help management understand the business value drivers
& Investor Relations
- Partner with CEO on subsequent fundraises - including building compelling financial narratives and driving data room builds and diligence readiness
- Maintain relationships with current investors through clean, proactive reporting
- Drive insightful analysis and scenario discussions to help navigate strategic conversations around capital allocation and growth
Strategic Finance & Capital Allocation
- Work alongside leadership on planning exercises - balancing growth needs with acapital efficiency
- Own budget process and rolling forecasts - working closely with business leaders to translate business objectives into measurable financial plans
- Build frameworks for measuring ROI on growth spend and distinguishing investment costs from run-rate expenses
- Ensure appropriate controls around spend
